Job Description

An Associate Project Manager in Atwell's Civil Engineering group is responsible for supporting project planning, data analysis, technical report preparation, construction support, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for career growth into a Project Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing site plans and construction documents
  • Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easements, and condo documents
  • Guide and support junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project task execution
  • Prepare engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
  • Provide construction-related services, including permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
  • Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the goal of career advancement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Six (6) or more years of related experience in civil engineering
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages
  • Ability to assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents
  • Experience analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
  • Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports
  • Experience providing construction-related services such as permit applications and quantity estimates
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and assist junior staff
  • Excellent technical skills in civil engineering tasks
  • Ability to develop project schedules and manage project data accurately
  • Willingness to develop Project Manager skills through training and mentoring
  • Physical ability to perform tasks related to civil engineering projects (implied by job duties, though not explicitly stated)
