Job Description

The Tax Director - Construction Industry is responsible for leading and managing tax engagements for clients in the construction sector, providing strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to help clients maximize profitability and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage tax engagements for clients in the construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and homebuilders.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and executive teams, providing proactive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services.
  • Work closely with the Construction Segment Leader and firm partners to manage client relationships.
  • Oversee staff development within the tax services team.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives to attract and retain clients.

Requirements

  • Lead and manage tax engagements for clients in the construction industry, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and homebuilders.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and executive teams by providing proactive tax planning, compliance, and consulting services.
  • Work closely with the Construction Segment Leader and firm partners to manage client relationships.
  • Oversee staff development related to construction tax services.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives within the construction industry.
  • Possess a CPA license or equivalent certification.
  • Have significant experience in tax services, specifically in the construction industry (implying multiple years of relevant experience).
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of tax planning, compliance, and consulting practices relevant to construction industry clients.
  • Possess excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Be able to serve as a strategic advisor to clients' ownership and executive teams.
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively with team members and firm partners.
  • Be capable of managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations applicable to the construction industry.
