The Program Associate supports conservation initiatives by coordinating data analysis, grantmaking processes, stakeholder engagement, and operational tasks to advance global and regional nature conservation strategies within the Bezos Earth Fund.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and synthesize data to inform investment strategies and program decisions
Support the full grantmaking cycle, including due diligence, documentation, and milestone tracking
Review and analyze grantee reports to contribute to impact assessments and storytelling
Coordinate with grantees, partners, and donor coalitions on meetings and workflows
Draft and deliver program updates, briefs, and presentations for stakeholders
Plan and execute meetings and workshops related to conservation initiatives
Provide administrative and operational support, including meeting coordination and travel planning
Requirements
A master's degree in environmental management or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
At least 3 years of experience in nature conservation planning and project management.
Direct work experience in one of the priority 30x30 regions is highly valued.
Experience in the creation and management of protected areas is especially relevant.
Significant professional experience living and working in Latin America or the Asia-Pacific region is strongly preferred.
Strong alignment with the mission and values of the Bezos Earth Fund.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, with strong project management, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across diverse cultures, geographies, and time zones.
Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Fluency in English is required; working proficiency in an additional language such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French is strongly preferred.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
May require extended hours for urgent issues or to meet established deadlines.
This position is based in Washington, D.C., and may undertake limited domestic and/or international travel.
