Job Description
The Technical Data Architect will lead the design and implementation of data migration solutions for large-scale projects, particularly in the Gulf Region, while collaborating with customers, sales teams, and engineering to meet technical needs and automate migration processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand architecture, design, and implementation of data migration solutions.
- Assist in delivering large scale and complex migration projects.
- Develop scripts for automation of migration processes.
- Support implementation of professional services solutions post-sales.
- Provide technical consultation and education to the Sales team.
- Participate in customer evaluations and proof of concepts for data migrations.
- Advise on engineering developments and strategies for data migration solutions.
- Plan and direct projects to support sales efforts and customer needs.
- Evaluate partner proposals for migration services.
- Deliver migration solutions to customers as a sole resource or part of a team.
Requirements
- Experience with technical solutions for supporting data center migrations and consolidations.
- Experience with Cirrus Data Solutions Appliance or appliance-based solutions for migrating block data.
- Experience with virtualization tools such as Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware for cloud solution migrations.
- Proven experience of scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, PowerShell, Visual Basic, and Python.
- Experience with networking infrastructure and security firewalls.
- Experience with other technical platform or infrastructure migration tools such as Logical Volume Manager (LVM), Datadobi, StorageX, Open Replicator, and Online Import.
- Experience with data center migration implementations for block and file share data.
- Experience with multi-vendor server and storage platforms including Windows, AIX, and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of middleware and applications, networking concepts, and high-level designs.
- Experience with data center relocation tools and technologies.
- Experience in the preparation and delivery of technical and architecture solutions.
- Ability to contribute significant portions for data migration solutions to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
- Knowledge of UNIX OS, NFS file systems, and UNIX distributed network environments.
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
