Job Description
The Fired Heater Specialist Combustion Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and providing combustion solutions for fired equipment such as furnaces, heaters, and boilers, primarily in refining and petrochemical industries, while supporting commissioning, maintenance, and technological upgrades across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and assess fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and remaining useful life
- Identify failures and malfunctions, and engineer technical and operational solutions
- Suggest and review maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and sparing levels
- Conduct heater and furnace surveys, and generate pre-turnaround scopes
- Support equipment commissioning and startup processes
- Review and verify proper installation and alignment of equipment received at site
- Coordinate with Zeeco SMEs for consultation and develop scope of inquiry for complete solutions
- Integrate Zeeco applications and project teams to expedite solutions
- Provide training and educational opportunities related to combustion systems
Requirements
- Serve in a fired equipment specialist engineer capacity for customers in designated geographic locations by providing combustion solutions for furnaces, heaters, boilers, flares, incinerators, or other fired equipment and ancillary technologies.
- Apply problem-solving skills across multiple markets, customers, and equipment.
- Travel to different facilities to diagnose equipment issues, upgrade technologies to satisfy environmental initiatives, and solve combustion problems predominately for refining and petrochemical end users with the support of a global team.
- Assist in diagnosing all fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and estimated remaining useful life.
- Diagnose failures and malfunctions of fired equipment.
- Engineer technical and operational solutions for combustion equipment issues.
- Suggest maintenance scope for repairs and review completed maintenance for suitability.
- Review spare parts inventory and sparing levels for combustion equipment.
- Conduct heater and furnace preliminary surveys.
- Generate pre-turnaround scope and reporting for fired equipment.
- Provide commissioning support by reviewing equipment received at site, ensuring proper alignment of installed equipment, and assisting with commissioning and startup activities.
- Integrate Zeeco SMEs with site for consultation and develop scope of inquiry for complete solutions.
- Coordinate training and educational opportunities related to combustion solutions and Zeeco applications.
