Job Description
A Senior Research Engineer at Sword Health is responsible for training, deploying, and maintaining AI models in production, primarily focused on mental health, while establishing strong engineering practices and bridging the gap between research and engineering to support the company's AI-first healthcare platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Train production-ready AI models.
- Deploy and maintain AI models in production environments.
- Establish and promote strong engineering practices within the research organization.
- Ensure AI models remain performant, safe, and up-to-date post-production.
- Bridge the gap between research and engineering to facilitate model deployment.
Requirements
- Experience in training production-ready models, deploying them in production environments, and maintaining them post-deployment to ensure performance, safety, and currency.
- Ability to establish and follow strong engineering practices across a research organization, including bridging the gap between Research and Engineering.
- Proficiency in taking models from research to production, ensuring they remain performant, safe, and up-to-date post-production.
- Experience working within or collaborating with research scientists in a technical environment.
- Strong engineering skills relevant to AI model deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Location flexibility to work remotely across Europe and the UK, with a preference for candidates based in London, UK, or Lisbon/Porto, Portugal, where the research team is primarily located.
