Job Description
The Senior Buyer will manage end-to-end procurement and logistics for research, development, and engineering activities, partnering with technical teams and suppliers to secure materials, equipment, and services that support SunDrive's innovative solar technology, focusing on speed, cost, and quality in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end procurement and logistics processes across research, development, and engineering.
- Partner with engineers, scientists, and operators to secure materials, equipment, chemicals, and services.
- Interpret technical specifications and understand cost drivers to make commercially sound purchasing decisions.
- Manage relationships with suppliers in Australia, China, and broader markets, utilizing Mandarin language skills.
- Ensure procurement processes deliver speed and cost efficiency without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Own SunDrive’s end-to-end procurement and logistics processes across research, development, and engineering.
- Partner directly with engineers, scientists, and operators to secure materials, equipment, chemicals, and services to power the company's technology at speed, at the right cost, and without compromising quality.
- Interpret technical specifications provided by the technical team and understand what drives cost within them.
- Translate ambiguity into structured, commercially sound purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with suppliers in Australia, China, and broader markets, with Mandarin capability being critical to building strong supplier and partner relationships and delivering commercial outcomes.
- Experience in in-direct technical procurement in a fast-moving R&D environment, specifically not buying catalogue items.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical specifications and interpret them into procurement actions.
- Proficiency in Mandarin language to effectively communicate and build relationships with suppliers in China and broader markets.
- Full working rights in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
