Job Description
The role involves designing and developing scalable software systems to support credit risk assessment and trading operations within the Climate Tech platform, collaborating across teams to create reliable, efficient, and maintainable solutions that enhance STX's digital trading capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable services supporting the full trading lifecycle, including onboarding, risk assessment, exposure monitoring, limit management, and reporting.
- Create APIs, modular architectures, and data pipelines to ensure platform performance, clarity, and reliability.
- Translate complex business processes into maintainable, production-ready software that scales with organizational needs.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and participate in design and code reviews to ensure technical excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Trading, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Data to deliver robust solutions.
- Mentor and grow engineering talent, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of clarity and accountability.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience building scalable, reliable software, ideally in fintech, trading platforms, or data-intensive systems.
- Prior experience working within credit risk or financial risk systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in TypeScript with strong backend experience in Python or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
- Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CDK, Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Strong system design and engineering fundamentals, including clean architecture, testing, and production-grade software development.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives and give/receive constructive feedback.
- Curiosity and growth mindset, staying up-to-date with emerging technologies like LLM-powered automation, serverless systems, and data-centric design.
