Job Description
A Battery Engineer responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing lithium-ion batteries for consumer electronics, collaborating with technical teams and customers to ensure performance meets requirements, and supporting the deployment of next-generation battery technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical success of multiple consumer electronics customer programs
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to test battery cell performance against customer requirements
- Communicate ideas, plans, and results internally and externally to customers
- Facilitate technical collaboration between internal teams and external customers
- Synthesize customer technical challenges and act as a bridge between customer and internal teams
Requirements
- Ability to carefully plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong technical background, experience with lithium-ion batteries is a MUST
- Well-organized and data-driven approach to problem solving and experimental design, driven by curiosity and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using databases, and data analysis tools such as JMP, Python, etc.
- Exceptional communication abilities with both internal groups and external customers
- At least a B.S. in engineering or science
- 7 years of experience in batteries or related field, or fewer years with an advanced degree
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc., in a fixed location
- Move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection
- Up to 20 domestic and international travel as needed
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $151,000 to $191,000
