Job Description
The Senior Innovation Engineer at Rondo Energy focuses on developing and integrating thermal power generation solutions using Heat Batteries, working with partners to evaluate concepts, optimize systems, and support deployment to advance sustainable energy and decarbonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate technical concepts for Heat Battery integrated thermal power cycles, including simple-cycle, combined-cycle, cogeneration, and fuel conversion.
- Lead technical engagements with power producers, OEMs, and technology partners to identify opportunities and define interface requirements.
- Build and manage relationships with OEMs and thermal systems providers to align integration strategies and validate performance.
- Conduct techno-economic studies, dispatch simulations, and feasibility analyses to assess system value and operational strategies.
- Design and support pilot programs and early commercial deployments to test system performance and facilitate market rollout.
- Translate customer and partner insights into standardized solutions, tools, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure solutions are technically robust, economically viable, and aligned with market needs.
- Provide technical expertise during customer meetings, presentations, and industry events to communicate value propositions.
- Stay informed on power generation trends, market regulations, and emerging technologies to guide product development and market strategies.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a related role involving power generation, thermal systems, grid-connected storage, or related power engineering disciplines.
- Proficiency in coding with Python, Visual Basic, and thermal power assessment tools such as Ebsilon.
- Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct toward the highest priority tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Innovative and results-oriented thinking.
- Outstanding presentation and oratory skills.
- Ability to connect and build trust with a wide variety of customers or potential customers.
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed for customer or investor meetings.

Estimated annual salary range between 120,000 and 215,000 USD plus equity
