The Staff Accountant at Sila is responsible for managing the company's daily accounting processes, including cash, investments, and accounts payable, while supporting month-end close, audits, and ensuring accurate and timely financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close
Support annual audit and tax preparation
Maintain accurate bank transactions, including investments and credit card activity
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions
Process invoices promptly and ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments
Support weekly payment runs and posting of payments
Maintain vendor accounts with up-to-date information
Assist in supplier invoice documentation, recording, authorization, and payment
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
3-4 years of experience in Corporate Accounting
Ability to prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close and support annual audit and tax preparation
Maintain accurate bank transactions, including investments and credit card activity, and oversee day-to-day accounting functions
Ensure all supplier invoices are accurately documented, recorded, authorized, and paid timely
Support weekly payment run and posting of payments
Process invoices promptly and appropriately to ensure accuracy, validity, and timeliness of payments
Maintain vendor accounts with up-to-date information such as W9s and banking details
Support 1099 yearly tax return filings
Proficient knowledge of Macintosh computers, Google Sheets, and Excel
Experience with ERP and P2P systems, specifically Sage X3, Coupa, or Ramp, is strongly preferred
Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time
Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, and printer, in a fixed location
