Job Description
The Engineering Technician will support the development and manufacturing of advanced battery materials by running process recipes, performing measurements, and collaborating with engineers and scientists to develop prototypes and improve processes in a laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Run process recipes to produce slurry batches in lab and pilot-scale equipment
- Use coating processes to generate product prototypes for characterization and benchmarking
- Perform measurements with analytical instruments such as microscopes, materials testing machines, balances, and wet chemistry
- Follow engineer instructions to develop new processes
- Record evaluations and maintain data in an online database
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and scientists
- Communicate test results to identify and resolve issues
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, report unsafe behaviors and incidents
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience as an Engineering Technician, or an equivalent educational background in a STEM-related field
- Proven track record to evaluate and solve simple processes and equipment problems
- Dexterity and stability to assemble micro-components
- Ability of multitasking and completing assignments and projects on time
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a periodic basis
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
- Move long distances such as from building to building
- Perform repetitive benchtop assembly occasionally with reasonable productivity
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $37.02/hr to $46.63/hr
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm
