Job Description
A Sr Staff Electrical Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling electrical systems for a groundbreaking battery materials manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and deploy industrial electrical systems for the manufacturing facility
- Manage and serve as the primary technical liaison for electrical engineering contractors
- Review and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and cable schedules
- Conduct or review arc flash analyses
- Develop detailed RFPs and equipment specifications for hardware procurement
- Analyze vendor proposals for compliance with project and code requirements
- Create electrical work packages for cost estimation and site installation
- Provide technical support during equipment fabrication, installation, startup, and commissioning
- Maintain plant-wide electrical load list and collaborate with the balance of plant team
- Develop and maintain electrical standards, specifications, and design guidelines
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering
- 8 years of industry experience in electrical engineering
- Proficiency in designing industrial electrical power systems for hazardous areas with strong familiarity with governing NFPA codes and applicable standards
- Experience generating electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience with electric power system design, studies, and protective relay applications using ETAP
- Experience with cable sizing and specifying cable tray and conduit routing layouts
- Experience designing, analyzing, and implementing grounding and shielding schemes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both highly technical and non-technical stakeholders
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $172,000 to $215,000 base pay
Work schedule: Onsite with up to 25% travel potential during critical activities
