Job Description
A Senior Process Engineer responsible for troubleshooting, optimizing, and scaling manufacturing processes for advanced battery materials, ensuring high equipment reliability, safety, and product quality in a high-volume production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for production equipment and processes
- Analyze production performance, investigate upset conditions, lead root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Utilize and improve process documentation such as P&IDs, PFDs, HAZOPs, PHAs, and SOPs
- Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify deviations and implement corrective actions
- Lead or support cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability, throughput, quality, and safety
- Support the design of equipment, systems, and work processes for next-generation manufacturing facilities
- Act as a manufacturing representative in development of new production equipment, processes, and products
- Mentor and train manufacturing and engineering team members
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience supporting a high volume production line in the chemical, oil gas, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, battery, automotive industry or similar
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in chemical engineering
- Demonstrated technical understanding and ability to troubleshoot complex production equipment such as furnaces, reactors, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, abatement technologies, controls valves, and instrumentation
- Experience with process safety management elements such as management of change, HAZOP PHA studies, safety critical instrumentation, safety relief, and operational alarms
- Experience using root cause analysis methodologies such as cause fault trees, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagrams, etc., and identifying and implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Experience leading small projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, work autonomously with minimal guidance, and handle ambiguity while creating structure
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and hard toe safety shoes
- Willingness to support routine production during nights and weekends
- Physical ability to move long distances such as from building to building and remain stationary for extended periods
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $128,000 to $162,000
Work schedule: Night and weekend shifts
