Job Description
A Process Integration Engineer at Sila is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for battery materials, ensuring high yield, reliability, and performance while collaborating across R&D and production teams to bring innovative materials-based technologies to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing process workflows for multiple products and unit operations
- Plan and execute experiments to validate new materials and characterize processes and equipment
- Analyze process data and defect trends to identify root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions
- Design and implement efficient manufacturing flows ensuring compatibility between unit operations
- Coordinate with design, equipment, and materials engineers to resolve integration challenges
- Maintain detailed process specifications, flowcharts, and FMEA documentation
Requirements
- 2 years of hands-on process development and or engineering experience
- Experience in materials-centric industries e.g., semiconductors, battery tech, specialty chemicals, or advanced composites is highly preferred
- Proficient in statistical software and the application of Statistical Process Control SPC
- Strong ability to report technical data to both technical teams and management stakeholders
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Ability to move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
- Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach low shelves or items on the floor
- Ability to enter spaces narrower than 3 feet
- Ability to climb stairs or over containment walls
- Ability to perform precise and repetitive handling of a range of material quantities
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, or printer in a fixed location
- Willingness to travel as needed to manufacturing sites, up to 10% of the time
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $128,000 to $162,000 base pay
