Job Description
The Director of Quality will lead the development, implementation, and scaling of Rondo's Quality Management System to ensure high standards of safety, reliability, and performance across the company's operations, while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and scale the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and execute a quality strategy that balances long-term system development with short-term goals.
- Lead the design and implementation of quality processes across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality practices throughout operations.
- Build and promote a culture of quality through communication, training, and enforcement of QMS procedures.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement continuous improvements in product quality, process efficiency, and system robustness.
- Serve as the primary contact for external audits, customer quality requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in quality management in hardware, energy systems, or industrial equipment environments.
- Strong knowledge of QMS frameworks ISO 9001 or equivalent and quality tools such as FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Proven ability to build and scale quality systems in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
- Experience working across product and project lifecycles including design, manufacturing, installation, and field operations.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills able to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated success in project management and driving cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to define a vision for quality systems and develop a quality strategy that balances long-term system development with short-term execution.
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling a Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ability to partner with product, engineering, supply chain, and project delivery teams to embed quality practices throughout operations.
- Ability to build a culture of quality through effective communication, training, and enforcement of QMS procedures.
- Lead efforts to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements in product quality, process efficiency, and system robustness.
- Serve as the point of contact for external audits, customer quality requirements, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Ability to influence and build cross-functional alignment at all organizational levels.
- Strategic thinking with flexibility, pragmatism, and bias for action suitable for a startup environment.

Annual salary range of $200,000 to $230,000
