Job Description
The Staff Accountant at Sila is responsible for managing the company's daily accounting processes, including accounts payable, cash, and investments, while supporting month-end close, audits, and ensuring accurate financial documentation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes including cash, investments, and accounts payable
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close
- Support annual audit and tax preparation activities
- Maintain accurate records of bank, investment, and credit card activities
- Process invoices to ensure accuracy, validity, and timely payments
- Support weekly payment runs and posting of payments
- Maintain vendor accounts with up-to-date information
- Assist with 1099 tax return filings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3-4 years of experience in Corporate Accounting
- Proficient knowledge of Macintosh computers, Google Sheets, and Excel
- Experience with ERP and P2P systems is strongly preferred, specifically Sage X3, Coupa, Ramp
- Ability to prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close
- Ability to support annual audit and tax preparation
- Ability to maintain accurate bank, investments, and credit card activity records
- Ability to oversee day-to-day accounting functions
- Ability to process invoices promptly and appropriately to ensure accuracy, validity, and timeliness of payments
- Ability to support 1099 yearly tax return filings
- Ability to maintain vendor accounts with up-to-date information such as W9s and banking details
- Ability to support weekly payment run and posting of payments
- Ability to address accounting inquiries and resolve issues both internally and externally
- Ability to prepare and support month-end close activities
- Ability to participate in supporting annual audit and tax preparation activities
- Physical ability to move long distances such as from building to building and to be stationary for extended periods of time
- Physical ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a laptop, copier, and printer in a fixed location
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $86,000 to $108,000
Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm
Work environment perks: Onsite work, regular shift
