Job Description
The Product Manager at Sila will shape the future of advanced battery materials by developing product strategies, engaging with key customers, translating requirements into development plans, and creating marketing assets to support commercialization efforts in the energy storage sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop product strategy and roadmaps for next-generation battery materials
- Cultivate relationships with OEMs and cell manufacturers to understand their technical needs and evaluate competitors
- Translate customer requirements into internal test protocols and define necessary capabilities for product development
- Prioritize and lead internal development initiatives, including creating business cases and tracking progress
- Create technical marketing materials and sales enablement tools to communicate product value and differentiation
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Product Management or a closely related technical role within a hard-tech company, ideally a leading battery cell manufacturer or a battery materials company supplying top-tier battery manufacturers.
- Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and managing products, preferably within the advanced materials or energy storage sectors.
- Technical understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, manufacturing processes, and the critical performance requirements for advanced battery materials such as silicon anodes, cathode materials, and electrolytes.
- In-depth knowledge of the product development lifecycle for novel materials, including the unique challenges and opportunities associated with scaling from lab to commercial production.
- Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented, with a strong bias for action in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is highly preferred.

Compensation/salary range: $151,000 to $191,000 base pay
