Job Description
The Product Manager at Sila will shape the development and strategy of next-generation battery materials, working at the intersection of market needs, customer requirements, and advanced R&D to drive impactful product roadmaps and commercialization efforts in the energy storage sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop product strategy and roadmaps for next-generation battery materials
- Cultivate relationships with key customers to understand their technical requirements and evaluate competitive materials
- Translate customer requirements into internal test protocols and identify necessary capabilities for product development
- Prioritize and lead internal development initiatives, including creating business cases and tracking progress
- Create technical marketing materials and sales enablement tools to communicate product value and differentiation
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in Product Management or a closely related technical role within a hard-tech company, ideally a leading battery cell manufacturer or a battery materials company supplying top-tier battery manufacturers.
- Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and managing products, preferably within the advanced materials or energy storage sectors.
- Technical understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, manufacturing processes, and the critical performance requirements for advanced battery materials such as silicon anodes, cathode materials, and electrolytes.
- In-depth knowledge of the product development lifecycle for novel materials, including the unique challenges and opportunities associated with scaling from lab to commercial production.
- Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented, with a strong bias for action in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is highly preferred.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range between $151,000 and $191,000
Work environment includes operating a computer and other office equipment, moving long distances, and being stationary for extended periods
