Job Description
The Staff Process Integration Engineer at Sila is responsible for developing, optimizing, and integrating manufacturing processes for advanced battery materials, ensuring high yield, quality, and scalability for high-volume production in a collaborative and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze process data and defect trends to identify root causes of yield loss and implement corrective actions
- Develop and implement scalable process pathways for battery material synthesis
- Ensure seamless integration of new products and process technologies into production with focus on safety, quality, and performance
- Utilize statistical modeling and DOE to define operating windows, set material specifications, and predict product performance and risks
- Maintain detailed process specifications, flowcharts, and FMEA documentation
- Coordinate across departments to resolve integration challenges and meet performance standards
- Lead transfer of processes from R D or pilot lines to high-volume manufacturing facilities
Requirements
- 8 years of hands-on process development and or engineering experience.
- Experience in materials-centric industries such as semiconductors, battery tech, specialty chemicals, or advanced composites is highly preferred.
- Deep expertise in and experience with methodologies used to transition products and processes from prototype designs to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
- Proven track record of using FMEA and root-cause analysis to solve complex integration challenges.
- Proficient in statistical software and the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong ability to report technical data to both technical teams and management stakeholders.
- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or a related field.
- PhD is a plus.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $172,000 to $218,000
Work schedule: Travel as needed to manufacturing sites, up to 10% of time
Work environment perks: Onsite work, personal protective equipment provided, ability to wear respiratory protection, movement of items up to 50 lbs with assistance, climbing stairs, operating office equipment, working in narrow spaces
