Job Description

The Senior Sales Development Representative at Shape Construction is responsible for building and refining the company's sales pipeline through proactive outreach, engaging construction professionals, and generating high-quality opportunities to help transform the construction industry with innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and reach out to construction teams to introduce them to Shape and set up introductory calls.
  • Continuously improve outreach strategies by experimenting with messaging, channels, and engagement tactics based on data and insights.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts and share feedback.
  • Generate high-quality sales opportunities and influence the scaling of the go-to-market approach.
  • Build and refine outreach processes and systems to expand the consulting service lines and client base.

Requirements

  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally in SaaS or construction tech, with the ability to engage decision-makers and guide them through a sales process.
  • Confident and engaging communication skills, capable of making complex ideas simple and compelling, and comfortable talking to both hands-on construction teams and senior business leaders.
  • Ability to take ownership, unafraid of rejection, and willing to experiment with new ways to connect and add value.
  • Impact-driven mindset with the ability to read between the lines, spot opportunities, and adapt approaches based on what is working, with a focus on opening doors and generating high-quality opportunities.
  • Mastery experience in cold outreach, including proactively identifying and reaching out to construction teams to set up intro calls.
  • Ability to use data and insights to continuously improve outreach strategies, experimenting with messaging, channels, and engagement tactics.
  • Experience collaborating closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align efforts and share feedback.
  • Willingness to grow sales skills, share best practices, and contribute to building a world-class growth function.
  • Experience in building outreach processes and systems to refine and scale the SDR engine as the company expands its consulting service lines and client base.
  • High-energy, people-focused sales approach that emphasizes helping potential customers see how the product can transform their work.
  • Ownership mentality, with a proactive attitude towards rejection and experimentation.
  • Impact orientation, with the ability to read opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, sharing feedback and aligning efforts with marketing, product, and customer success teams.
  • Physical and mental ability to perform the role's demands, including making cold calls and engaging with busy construction professionals.
  • Willingness to learn industry-specific language and develop expertise in construction or digital project delivery, if not already experienced.
  • Early leadership or mentoring experience, with the potential to take on bigger responsibilities as the role grows (nice to have).
  • Full-cycle 360 sales exposure (nice to have).
  • Extensive network in the construction and/or tech startup industries (nice to have).
