Job Description
The Senior Development Engineer supports the development and performance engineering of large-scale solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects, providing technical expertise from project development through construction to optimize design, conduct due diligence, and evaluate innovative technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and performance engineering of large-scale solar PV and energy storage projects from development through construction.
- Develop preliminary layouts and optimize project design considering technical specifications and constraints.
- Conduct technical due diligence and collaborate with external engineering and environmental consultants.
- Generate engineering inputs for business development proposals.
- Perform PV production modeling and energy storage dispatch studies.
- Conduct site visits to support project development and design.
- Evaluate new and innovative technologies for project integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master of Sciences degree
- 5-8 years of experience with utility scale PV and or energy storage system design and construction support
- Strong preference for design experience in MISO and PJM
- Experience in MS Office and PVSyst or equivalent energy modelling software
- Experience in AutoCAD, with experience in automation tools ex. PVCase preferred
- Strong engineering, design, communication skills, and ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Knowledge of utility-scale solar and or storage project design and optimization tradeoffs, typical technical specifications, and costs
- Experience with PV production modelling including post-processing techniques
- Demonstrated technical problem solving through innovation and exposure to the impacts of civil and geotechnical risks on PV design
- Familiarity with development studies such as environmental site assessment, wetland delineation, ALTA, hydrology, topography, and interconnection
- Location in Denver, CO or Redwood City, CA required
- The position requires approximately 25 domestic travel

Compensation/salary range: $110,000 - $145,000 with discretionary annual bonus and long-term incentive plan
