Job Description
The position involves leading the strategy and management of utility-scale solar, energy storage, and load projects, providing technical and analytical support for interconnection and transmission processes, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project development and financing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the strategy for utility-scale solar, energy storage, and load projects.
- Review and develop load applications, study agreements, and interconnection agreements, coordinating with engineering teams.
- Manage third-party consultants and perform market analysis, power flow, dynamic, short-circuit, and reactive capability assessments.
- Provide critical reviews of third-party reports related to transmission and interconnection.
- Track transmission expansion plans and policies affecting project interconnection and load processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of related interconnection experience.
- Extensive knowledge of interconnection process for ISOs in the USA.
- Working knowledge of general FERC interconnection process and specific requirements for all ISOs in the USA.
- Proven problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in applying established transmission techniques, procedures or standards.
- Basic knowledge and experience running power flows either in PSS E, TARA, PSLF, or Power World.
- Location in Redwood City, CA, or the San Francisco Bay Area with a hybrid in-office/remote work setup.
- Up to 25 domestic travel required.
