Job Description
The role involves developing, automating, and supporting IT systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency through DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and system integrations, primarily focusing on automation, code deployment, and infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, implement, and support internal automation systems to improve efficiency at scale
- Write code for management tools, test automation, and deployment utilities
- Design, develop, and support integrations with internal and external systems
- Automate manual processes and optimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
- Research and recommend improvements to systems, tools, and processes
- Manage technical requirements gathering, gap analysis, and backlog grooming
- Embed DevOps methodologies and best practices throughout the IT engineering process
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience in a DevOps Engineer or similar role with experience in software development and infrastructure
- Advanced experience in Python or similar programming languages
- First-hand experience with various APIs and integration platforms
- Experience developing Slack Apps
- Experience with application containerization platforms
- Experience with CI/CD build tools
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms AWS, GCP and the underlying constituent services provided
- Progressively related experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions
- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git, GitHub
- Ability to spearhead and drive work without supervision across functions and collaborate with all levels of users and management
- Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with Atlassian suite Jira, Confluence, OpsGenie, StatusPage
- Experience with Splunk and Workato
- Expertise with Google Workspace and Google Cloud Platform
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid work environment, depending on operational requirements
