Job Description
The role involves optimizing image quality and stabilization for automotive and high-end imaging products by tuning ISP pipelines, developing automation tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance imaging in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize ISP pipeline parameters for image stability and clarity in high-motion environments
- Tune Auto-Exposure, Noise Reduction, Sharpening, and Color Mapping for RGB sensors
- Adjust Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and gyro-sensor integration to maintain video fluidity
- Develop scripts to extract objective image quality metrics from field data
- Build and maintain tools to visualize and document ISP tuning changes and stabilization performance
- Manage and update the version-controlled IQ database to prevent regression issues
- Automate the generation of image quality reports including vibration robustness scores
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve tuning objectives
- Assist in tuning hardware components and optimizing tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, and cost
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Image Quality or ISP Tuning with hands-on experience tuning Auto-Exposure (AE) for motion-blur mitigation or Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for video stabilization.
- Proficiency in programming with Python, OpenCV, and NumPy for image processing, specifically for temporal analysis and frame-to-frame metric extraction.
- Experience with at least one major SoC tuning tool such as Ambarella, Novatek, Sony, or Qualcomm.
- Understanding of CRA hardware aspects, including lens-sensor interactions, mechanical tolerances, lens-tilt, and vibration effects on tuning limits.
- Experience shipping automotive or high-end imaging products from bring-up to mass production.
- Proven ability to navigate tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Ability to travel up to 25% when necessary.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
