Job Description
The role involves managing the sourcing and supply chain of electromechanical components, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure supply continuity, negotiate with vendors, and drive cost-saving initiatives to support the company's hardware development and manufacturing efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing of electromechanical components such as cables, connectors, and batteries.
- Collaborate with internal teams on sourcing strategy, market analysis, and trade-off reviews.
- Evaluate, develop, and manage supply base for prototype deployment and scalable production.
- Negotiate contracts and source alternative suppliers to mitigate risk.
- Analyze supplier spend and capacity to develop negotiation and engagement strategies.
- Support value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce costs.
- Create should-cost models and collaborate with vendors on cost-effective solutions.
- Identify and resolve sourcing gaps to ensure program execution.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in global supply chain and or strategic sourcing.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues.
- Ability to dive deep into understanding strategic insights and commodity trends.
- Advanced analytical skills, expertise in should-costing, and leading complex negotiations.
- Ability to translate data into insights and craft executive presentations.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with international supply base partners at executive levels.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.
- Experience collaborating and working cross-functionally with Engineering and Product teams.
- Preferred experience in electromechanical commodities including cables and connectors.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum in a relevant analytical field such as Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
