Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, customer-facing platform systems that support Samsara's Connected Operations Cloud, enabling real-time insights and operational improvements for industries reliant on physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile platforms.
- Maintain and support the production systems owned by the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and prioritize platform development.
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance systems to enable product functionality.
- Mentor and guide engineers to foster a strong engineering culture.
- Solve complex problems to improve product reliability, performance, and customer experience.
Requirements
- 8 years of industry experience building and operating production software systems.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Java, C++, or an equivalent language.
- Proficiency in building scalable and maintainable front-end applications using TypeScript and React, or similar component-based JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems.
- A focus on and desire to mentor fellow engineers.
- An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team.
- Experience with a public cloud such as AWS.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
