Job Description

The role involves designing and developing automated reliability and self-healing systems to ensure the stability and resilience of production environments, while collaborating with engineering teams to improve operational practices and implement AI-driven automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build automated reliability and self-healing systems for production protection
  • Own and improve incident management tooling and on-call health
  • Develop and evolve observability infrastructure including monitoring, alerting, and performance regression detection
  • Contribute to AI-driven operational tooling for autonomous issue detection and remediation
  • Identify systemic operational patterns to prevent incidents and reduce operational toil
  • Partner with engineering teams to diagnose reliability gaps and improve service stability
  • Define and promote operational excellence best practices and standards

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience designing and building products in a software engineering team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in infrastructure and/or platform engineering-focused teams.
  • Expertise in Observability and reliability, operational metrics, and data analysis.
  • Proven track record in architecting monitoring frameworks, SLO platforms, and automated response workflows, with experience using Datadog or equivalent observability tooling like New Relic or Grafana.
  • Proven experience working on large-scale enterprise software applications.
  • Experience in Developer Experience (DevEx) internal portals and designing and implementing solutions/tools that centralize and simplify engineering operations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar.
  • Experience in implementing AI-driven automation across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to reduce developer friction, automate repetitive technical tasks, and accelerate time-to-delivery, with routine application of AI tools across workflows.
  • Experience writing high-quality code in Go, Python, or equivalent languages focused on infrastructure, deployment, and operations challenges.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting engineers and role modeling engineering practices within a technical lead capacity.
  • Proactive growth mindset, always seeking ways to improve the status quo.
  • Experience with incident management tooling such as Incident.io, PagerDuty, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Ability to work remotely within the ET time zone in the US and Canada, as relocation assistance will not be provided.
