Job Description
The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting at Samsara is responsible for overseeing revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606, leading cross-functional collaboration, ensuring SOX compliance, and driving process improvements within a fast-growing, publicly traded IoT company.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee revenue contract reviews to ensure proper accounting practices in accordance with ASC 606 and SOX requirements
- Partner with Deal Desk, Sales, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with revenue policies and resolve customer constraints
- Lead the financial close and SOX compliance processes for the Revenue accounting team
- Supervise execution of projects to improve customer experience, automate tasks, and enhance systems for efficiency and risk reduction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and drive process improvements in revenue accounting
Requirements
- 8 years of combined experience working in public accounting and revenue accounting with an emphasis on ASC 606.
- Strong grasp of ASC 606 with ability to research, interpret, memorialize and apply accounting standards to Samsara s facts and circumstances.
- Experience managing or leading a team.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and best practices.
- BS BA in Accounting or equivalent required.
