Job Description
The role involves building, deploying, and scaling AI-powered systems and platforms, including generative AI solutions, to enhance operational workflows across various business functions within Samsara. It requires designing end-to-end AI solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring reliability and performance of AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and scale Samsara's Enterprise AI platform from ideation to production deployment and monitoring.
- Architect and expand GenAI capabilities to support domain-specific AI agents integrated into operational workflows.
- Develop documentation and provide support for deploying and managing AI agents at scale.
- Lead investments in infrastructure such as RAG, embedding pipelines, LLM orchestration, and multi-modal data processing.
- Design and integrate AI solutions with internal systems and third-party platforms, including APIs and enterprise systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.
- 10 years of industry experience in software engineering or data platform development, including 3 years of experience owning the development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support of web applications and backend APIs.
- 0-1 year of experience building and deploying production-ready Generative AI solutions, with responsibility for reliability and performance.
- 1 year of experience in administering AWS platform.
- Strong expertise in Python and AI ML fundamentals, particularly Generative AI solutions e.g., LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG systems.
- Experience with AI agent development frameworks and tooling e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, MCP, A2A.
- Experience in MVP development, iterative prototyping, and evolving prototypes into production-grade systems.
- Knowledge of SDLC best practices and active experimentation with and adoption of modern AI development tools and patterns.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional settings and translate business needs into technical solutions.
