Job Description
A Proposal Writer at Samsara is responsible for managing and developing tailored proposals, RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs across various industries and regions, ensuring compliance and effective communication to support sales efforts in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs across various geographies, ensuring compliance with prospect requirements.
- Study and understand prospect needs to develop tailored proposal schedules and templates.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and account executives to customize proposal responses.
- Manage the entire RFP process for private evaluators, maintaining ownership and responsibility.
- Maintain and update the RFP knowledge base with relevant content.
- Debrief with sales teams to gather feedback and recommend process improvements.
- Localize proposal resources for different markets, focusing on the US and MEX regions.
- Ensure proposals align with customer success principles and company cultural values.
Requirements
- Proven project management, communication skills, and technical aptitude are required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Business Strategy, English, Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of project management experience.
- Strong cross-collaboration skills.
- High-level writing skills to author and edit technical content.
- Experience with AI tools is preferred.
- Ability to respond to customer Requests for Quotations (RFQ), Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Proposals (RFP) for entities across various geographies, with a focus on the US and MEX regions, including localizing proposal resources.
- Ability to study and understand prospects’ needs and develop proposal schedules and templates specific to each market.
- Ensure compliance with prospects’ requirements in proposals.
- Effectively handle multiple proposals in a high-performance and fast-paced environment.
- Work with Samsara subject matter experts and account executives to tailor responses to each prospect.
- Use and maintain the RFP knowledge base and ensure content is continuously updated.
- Take ownership and responsibility for the entire RFP process for private evaluators.
- Debrief with sales teams and use feedback to provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborate with other functional teams on side projects on a case-by-case basis.
