Job Description
A Proposal Writer role responsible for managing and developing tailored proposals and responses to customer RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs across various industries, with a focus on the US and Mexico regions. The position involves collaboration with sales and technical teams to ensure compliance, quality, and effectiveness of proposals in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to RFQ, RFI, and RFP requests across various geographies, ensuring compliance and localization.
- Study prospect needs and develop tailored proposal schedules and templates for different markets.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and account teams to customize proposal responses.
- Manage the entire RFP process for private evaluators, maintaining the RFP knowledge base.
- Ensure proposal content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with prospect requirements.
- Debrief sales teams and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Coordinate with other teams on side projects as needed.
Requirements
- Proven project management, communication skills, and technical aptitude are required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Business Strategy, English, Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of project management experience.
- Strong cross-collaboration skills.
- High-level writing skills to author and edit technical content.
- Experience with AI tools is preferred.
- Ability to respond to customer Requests for Quotations (RFQ), Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Proposals (RFP) for entities across various geographies, including localizing proposal resources.
- Ability to study and understand prospects’ needs and develop proposal schedules and templates specific to each market.
- Ensure compliance with prospects’ requirements.
- Effectively handle multiple proposals in a high-performance and fast-paced environment.
- Work with Samsara subject matter experts and account executives to tailor responses to each prospect.
- Use and maintain the RFP knowledge base and ensure content is continuously updated.
- Take ownership and responsibility for the entire RFP process for private evaluators.
- Debrief with sales teams and use feedback to provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Collaborate with other functional teams on side projects on a case-by-case basis.
