Job Description

The Partnership Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for leading technical conversations with partners and customers, developing integrations, and driving growth through partner engagement in a dynamic IoT and operations-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical conversations with partners and customers to identify solution fit and integration efforts.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with partner environments, influencing product development and advocating for partner solutions.
  • Deliver technical presentations, demos, training, and proof of value to partners and internal teams.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key partners, becoming an expert on their environments and solutions.
  • Conduct deep discovery into partner ecosystems to identify technology-driven revenue opportunities.
  • Prepare technical resources such as solution proposals and enablement materials for internal and external use.
  • Engage in on-site and remote demonstrations of Samsara products to showcase value propositions.
  • Respond to functional and technical RFIs and RFPs from partners and prospects.
  • Travel as needed to support partners, prospects, and participate in events like conferences and trade shows.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a pre-sales technical role such as Sales Engineer or Solutions Consultant for at least 5 years.
  • Experience working in a Channel or Partner environment is required, with major preference for experience in a Fleet Sales environment.
  • Strong technical and business acumen, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of various integration standards and transports such as XML, REST, SOAP, EDI, etc.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs between SaaS applications.
  • Exposure to various SaaS-based integrations, IoT, or general tinkering experience either work-related or as a hobby is a plus.
  • Background in Logistics, Supply Chain, Telematics, Manufacturing, or general operations is a significant plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in French or German is a plus.
  • Experience with Command of the Message and MEDDPICC sales methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate the value proposition of Samsara’s products and services effectively on-site, remotely via webinar, or at field events such as conferences and trade shows.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit and support partners, prospects, and customers, and to engage in onsite customer and partner work when required.
  • Ability to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-growing technical organization with a rapidly expanding partner and customer base.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with technical counterparts and key partners, and to learn and relate partner ecosystems and solutions back to Samsara’s offerings.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Management and other teams to develop and maintain integrations with partners, influence product development, and act as a partner advocate.
  • Experience in delivering technical presentations, demos, proof of value, and training sessions, and preparing technical resources such as solution proposals and enablement materials.

  • Legal right to work in the specified regions (UK, France, Germany, or the Netherlands) or remote within those regions, as applicable.
