Job Description
This role involves leading and developing engineering teams to build scalable, mission-critical SaaS infrastructure and features that enhance Samsara's IoT platform, impacting industries worldwide by improving operational safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, and fostering professional growth.
- Define project plans, roadmaps, and collaborate on developing next-generation platform technology.
- Develop features and infrastructure enhancements that positively impact customer experience.
- Establish operational standards and ensure team adherence to high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to shaping company culture by embodying leadership values and operating principles.
- Participate in strategic planning with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts.
- Drive technical strategy and set quarterly goals to prioritize product engineering initiatives.
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of application services and infrastructure.
- Hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, high-performing engineering team.
Requirements
- Experience building scalable, mission-critical SaaS applications.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and improving upon large-scale application services.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing, and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment.
- Strong track record of delivering products and features that customers love.
- Proven record of attracting top talent and coaching the team.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant software engineering work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on technical management experience.
- Proficiency in English language skills.
- B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline (preferred but not explicitly mandatory).
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional consensus and drive cross-team collaboration.
