Job Description
The role involves leading and managing a small IT engineering team in India to oversee critical automation, AI, and DevOps projects, ensuring the development, implementation, and support of scalable IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support the company's strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the India IT engineering team, overseeing critical automation, AI, and DevOps projects
- Evaluate, develop, and implement internal SaaS engineering automation systems and AI projects to improve efficiency
- Manage technical requirements gathering, gap analysis, and contribute to backlog grooming
- Develop operational metrics and dashboards for business leadership
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to assess their impact on applications
- Implement and support business technology products and IT applications, ensuring best practices and DevOps methodologies
- Provide performance management and support for direct reports
- Collaborate with US leadership on strategic initiatives and technical delivery
- Ensure alignment with Samsara’s cultural principles and focus on customer success
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field
- 10 years of experience in an IT Engineering role, with at least 3 years of managing small teams
- 6 years experience in software development and infrastructure
- Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions
- Strong experience working with APIs in Javascript Node.js, Python or Go
- Strong expertise in AWS and GCP cloud platforms
- Exposure to scale in a SaaS-first IT environment
- Experience with Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Github, Zendesk, etc.
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Experience with containerization tools, including Docker
- Solid understanding of source code versioning and exposure to Git, GitHub
- Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Experience developing and managing applications in a team environment (preferred)
- Experience with Atlassian suite Jira, Confluence (preferred)
- Expertise with SIEM Splunk service (preferred)
- Experience in corporate networking and email infrastructure, CCNP knowledge (preferred)
- Experience with Terraform (preferred)
