Job Description
The IT Manager at Samsara is responsible for scaling and managing the company's IT services, supporting over 4,500 employees, and leading initiatives to optimize core systems, improve technical support, drive security and compliance, and foster innovation through automation and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimize core IT tools and systems such as Google Workspace, Okta, Atlassian, Zendesk, and Slack.
- Lead technical support to enhance employee technology experiences and manage support tier hand-offs.
- Hire, develop, and scale the global IT team to ensure high performance and engagement.
- Communicate IT strategy and operational metrics effectively to executive leadership.
- Manage IT service levels, operational metrics, SLAs, and drive operational excellence.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to lead security and compliance projects.
- Lead innovation and automation projects to improve user technology experiences.
- Coordinate and manage IT projects and deliverables in collaboration with project managers.
- Embed and promote the company's cultural principles across the global team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in an IT services, IT program management, technical support, or systems role.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience successfully managing people and projects.
- Expertise in IT systems such as Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, Zoom, and related tools.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with proven ability to design and communicate clear processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with impeccable discretion.
- Excellent self-management and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, tenacious attitude while delivering on complex and challenging projects.
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with a technical focus, such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.
