Job Description
The IT Manager at Samsara is responsible for scaling and managing the company's IT services, supporting over 4,500 employees, and ensuring the effective operation of core IT systems, support processes, security, and innovation initiatives in a remote, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and optimize core IT systems and tools such as Google Workspace, Okta, Atlassian, Zendesk, and Slack.
- Lead technical support operations to enhance employee technology experiences and manage support tiers.
- Hire, develop, and scale the global IT team to meet organizational needs.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership regarding IT services, strategies, and performance metrics.
- Manage IT service levels, operational metrics, SLAs, and drive operational excellence.
- Partner with security and compliance teams to lead security and compliance projects.
- Lead innovation and automation projects to improve user technology experiences.
- Coordinate and manage IT projects and deliverables in collaboration with project managers.
- Embed and promote the company's cultural principles across the global organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years in an IT services, IT program management, technical support, or systems role.
- Experience managing a team.
- Experience successfully managing people and projects.
- Expertise in IT systems such as Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, Zoom, etc.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with proven ability to design and communicate clear processes.
- Detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving.
- Impeccable discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent self-management and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, tenacious attitude while delivering on complex and challenging projects.
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with a technical focus such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.
