Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for demonstrating and implementing IoT solutions to modernize industries, providing technical expertise, supporting customer deployments, and acting as a bridge between product and sales teams to drive digital transformation in physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in Samsara products and articulate their value to prospects.
- Conduct product demonstrations, value assessments, proof of concept implementations, and prepare work products to close deals.
- Guide installers through installation scenarios and best practices, and develop deployment plans.
- Write and document scripts using open APIs to solve real-world customer problems.
- Act as a technical consultant to deepen account engagement, support upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams, providing technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with customers in a pre-sales, technical consulting, solutions architect, customer success, or customer product support capacity
- Ability to influence stakeholders based on your technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes and change management
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Previous experience managing hardware and or software product evaluations
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation and control systems
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Work experience in task automation scripting and transferring data between systems using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or an equivalent language
- Work experience building solutions leveraging open APIs
- Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and Power Take Off (PTO) applications
- Located in Mexico
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10 times throughout the Mexico City Metropolitan area
