Job Description
The role involves financial analysis and strategic management of R&D expenses, including budgeting, performance tracking, and providing insights to support decision-making within a fast-growing IoT company focused on transforming physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage R&D program expenses from budget creation through performance tracking
- Conduct financial planning and analysis by building models for forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to track performance
- Perform variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process improvements in R&D financial management
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by managing databases and reporting systems
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Familiarity with financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and their analysis.
- Experience in building automated Excel reports.
- Solid understanding of corporate finance concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and solving financial challenges, with a focus on driving efficiency and cost optimization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Glean, Cursor, etc., and SQL, Databricks, or BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Proficiency in FP&A tools, such as Workday Adaptive Planning or similar planning systems, NetSuite, or equivalent.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally, with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain financial concepts and data to non-financial stakeholders.
