A Systems Modeling Engineer responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing 1D thermal models of heat batteries and supporting systems to aid in controls development, product design, and operational efficiency, with a focus on decarbonization and renewable energy integration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop one-dimensional, transient models of heat battery components and system assemblies
Validate models using experimental data and higher-order simulations such as CFD
Create model hooks based on controls requirements for controls development and hardware-in-the-loop testing
Analyze simulation results to provide insights and recommendations for design and performance optimization
Requirements
Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5 years of experience in systems modeling with a proven ability to create models of various levels of complexity
Strong expertise in heat transfer and thermodynamics
Expertise with a range of software tools and languages such as Matlab, Simulink, and Python
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail in modeling and data interpretation
