Job Description

An experienced Commercial Manager responsible for developing and closing industrial heat projects in Australia, acting as the primary commercial owner, negotiating deals, and building relationships with customers and stakeholders to support Rondo Energy's decarbonisation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, develop, and close Rondo Heat Battery projects from initial customer engagement to delivery
  • Manage key customer accounts through development, contracting, construction, and early operations
  • Translate customer needs into commercially viable heat battery solutions
  • Structure complex industrial energy projects in collaboration with utilities, developers, EPCs, and internal teams
  • Lead commercial negotiations and draft agreements such as MOUs, LOIs, and term sheets
  • Support the development and implementation of scalable deal development processes
  • Identify target customer segments and contribute to product and market strategy
  • Represent Rondo at customer meetings, industry events, and government forums
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline reports
  • Prepare customer-facing materials and conduct preliminary technical and commercial analyses

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar fields
  • 5 years experience in industrial business development, infrastructure, or large capital project sales
  • Experience with one or more of the following industrial energy systems, renewable project development, energy-as-a-service models, or project finance
  • Proven ability to originate, develop, and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Strong commercial judgement and contract negotiation capability
  • Familiarity with Australian industrial energy markets, utilities, and regulatory environments
  • Ability to operate independently in an early-stage market while contributing to team and process building
  • Strong analytical skills including financial modelling, Excel, and presentation skills
  • PowerPoint and senior leadership communication skills
  • Australian work authorization, as support with visas or work permits is not available
