Job Description

The Sales Manager will develop and manage customer relationships, originate new projects, and support the commercialization of Rondo's Heat Battery technology for industrial decarbonization, primarily focusing on the Iberia region. The role involves technical and financial analysis, contract negotiations, and collaboration with various stakeholders to drive renewable energy solutions and reduce industrial CO₂ emissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop existing pipeline and originate new prospects for Heat Battery projects
  • Own key accounts, maintain relationships, and drive repeat business through project construction to operation
  • Identify customer value propositions and develop project scope and business relationships for turnkey solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as renewable developers, utilities, EPCs, and project finance teams to structure projects
  • Support the development and implementation of project deal development processes and risk review procedures
  • Qualify potential customers, understand their heating loads and energy markets, and evaluate transaction feasibility
  • Manage customer relationships, understand decision-making processes, and navigate sales closure
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings, present at industry events, and maintain contacts in CRM
  • Prepare customer presentations, perform preliminary technical and financial analyses, and collaborate with engineering and finance teams
  • Identify key commercial terms and draft MOUs, LOIs, and term sheets to facilitate project agreements

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; an MBA or Master’s degree in the Energy Sector is highly desirable
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial sector business development and large capital equipment sales, with a preference for experience in two or more of the following areas: micro-grid and combined heat and power projects, renewable project development including structuring project financing, and industrial energy efficiency projects
  • Proven track record in lead creation, customer relationship nurturing through execution, and repeat sales, both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in structuring and negotiating commercial contracts to find deal solutions that meet the needs of both the customer and the company
  • Familiarity with industrial sector energy procurement and energy-as-a-service business models
  • Familiarity with Europe energy markets
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese language skills are desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including project finance modeling and cash flow analysis
  • Strong skills in MS PowerPoint for developing high-quality professional presentations
  • Ability to independently prepare and write techno-economic analyses and documentation in both Spanish and English
  • Must be entitled to work in Spain; visa sponsorships or relocation costs cannot be supported
