An experienced Commercial Manager responsible for developing and closing industrial heat projects in Australia, acting as the primary commercial owner, negotiating deals, and building relationships with customers and stakeholders to support Rondo Energy's decarbonisation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Originate, develop, and close Rondo Heat Battery projects from initial customer engagement to delivery
Manage key customer accounts through development, contracting, construction, and early operations
Translate customer energy, operational, and decarbonisation needs into commercially viable solutions
Structure complex industrial energy projects in collaboration with utilities, renewable developers, EPCs, and internal teams
Lead commercial negotiations and draft agreements such as MOUs, LOIs, and term sheets
Support the development and implementation of scalable deal development processes
Identify priority customer segments and contribute to product and market strategy for Australia
Represent Rondo at customer meetings, industry events, and government or trade forums
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and pipeline reporting
Prepare customer-facing materials and conduct preliminary technical and commercial analyses
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar field.
MBA or Master's degree in Energy, Finance, or Business is desirable.
At least 5 years of experience in industrial business development, infrastructure, or large capital project sales.
Experience with one or more of the following industrial energy systems, renewable project development, energy-as-a-service models, or project finance.
Proven ability to originate, develop, and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
Strong commercial judgment and contract negotiation capability.
Familiarity with Australian industrial energy markets, utilities, and regulatory environments.
Ability to operate independently in an early-stage market while contributing to team and process building.
Strong analytical skills including financial modeling, Excel, and presentation skills.
Ability to prepare customer-facing materials and conduct preliminary technical and commercial analyses, partnering closely with internal experts.
Australian work authorization is required as support with visas or work permits is not available.
