Job Description
The Head of Service is responsible for overseeing the commissioning, operations, maintenance, and organizational strategy of Rondo Heat Batteries, ensuring asset performance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in a fast-growing industrial decarbonization company.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure asset performance meets availability, reliability, and contractual guarantees, and drive continuous improvement in uptime and cost efficiency.
- Develop and execute commissioning strategies, standards, and acceptance criteria; oversee the transition from project delivery to operations with operational readiness.
- Define, implement, and oversee operations and maintenance models, including predictive, preventive, and corrective strategies, and specify execution methods based on project structure and geography.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary services organization, develop operational manuals, processes, performance metrics, and define long-term asset operations strategy.
- Manage elements of Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), including availability guarantees and service obligations, and act as the senior operational interface with stakeholders.
- Support commercial teams with O&M costing, risk assessment, and service scope definition for new projects.
Requirements
- Degree in engineering discipline such as Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field (this is not a software position).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Operations & Maintenance (O M) or asset management in energy or industrial environments.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Ability to thrive with intellectual challenges and in dealing with ambiguity.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to independently drive projects.
- Enthusiasm for and experience providing excellent customer service.
- Proven experience prioritizing and resolving time-critical operational issues.
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and travel internationally as required.
- Passion for safety and environmental stewardship.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- This role is required to be on-site in Madrid with about 30% travel to project sites.
