The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, safety, and improvement of the Bay Area Pilot Manufacturing Facility, ensuring compliance, managing vendors, and coordinating projects to support manufacturing needs in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the facility to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability
Manage facility ownership tasks including safety compliance, asset records, and risk mitigation
Coordinate with the landlord to meet lease obligations and manage facility-related expenses and budgets
Plan, scope, and oversee facility improvement projects, including utilities and infrastructure upgrades
Manage vendor relationships, including onboarding, contracts, and service quality for maintenance and safety vendors
Procure and manage space planning, furniture, equipment, and supplies for facility needs
Partner with EHS teams to ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance and safety program management
Manage security systems, access control, and coordinate with security services
Lead emergency response coordination and safety hazard remediation within the facility
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing, R D, or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience managing facility improvement and construction projects with external contractors.
Working knowledge of building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire life safety.
Experience managing service vendor relationships and negotiating service contracts.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing with landlords, contractors, and internal leadership.
Self-starter with a high degree of ownership and accountability, comfortable operating with minimal oversight.
Proficient in standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and project tracking tools.
Experience managing and tracking facility budgets and expenses.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an active manufacturing shop environment.
Location in Bay Area, California, with the ability to work on-site full-time.
Must be able to work in a hands-on role with regular physical presence in the facility.
Occasional extended hours may be required to support facility projects or respond to emergencies.
