Job Description
The role involves developing sophisticated software solutions to support battery engineering and operations, including building intuitive user interfaces, designing high-performance data models, and integrating AI features, all within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other teams to develop bespoke software solutions that improve workflows.
- Design and implement responsive user interfaces with React and modern visualization libraries for complex data interpretation.
- Develop and optimize Snowflake schemas and data models to support high-performance application interfaces.
- Use dbt and Airflow to clean, transform, and move data, ensuring data integrity and readiness for application use.
- Monitor application health and user interactions using observability tools like Datadog and Sumo Logic.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns and integrate large language models into workflows for technical data querying.
Requirements
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS-in-JS or Tailwind for front-end development.
- Experience with data visualization libraries such as Plotly or Bokeh is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Python FastAPI and Flask for application backend development.
- Advanced experience with Snowflake and dbt for application data modeling, including designing schemas with graph-based relationships to solve specific application and user-workflow problems.
- Experience with Airflow or similar tools to manage application-specific data transformations.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Practical experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into production application workflows.
- Experience deploying native iOS applications for internal business purposes.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related engineering field.
- Six (6) years of professional software development experience with a Master’s degree or eight (8) years with a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in hardware product technology and/or manufacturing environments.
- A proven track record of building complex internal tools for Operations, Engineering, Battery Teams, Finance, or Supply Chain teams emphasizing user-centric design and high data density.
- Strong bias for action and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Physical ability to move long distances such as from building to building and to be stationary for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a laptop, copier, or printer in a fixed location.
