Job Description

A Hardware Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring high-quality standards in battery energy storage hardware products, collaborating with manufacturing partners, analyzing quality data, and driving continuous improvement in production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement in-line quality control plans, inspection criteria, and validation protocols at manufacturing sites
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for field returns, yield issues, and customer complaints
  • Build dashboards to monitor KPIs such as DPPM, RMA rates, test yield, and audit performance
  • Drive process capability improvements using SPC, GR&R studies, and statistical analysis
  • Define product-level test plans and collaborate with test engineering to ensure functional and safety coverage
  • Participate in Engineering Change Orders and provide quality input during design reviews and manufacturing process changes
  • Support internal, supplier, third-party, and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with standards like ISO9001 and UL

Requirements

  • A B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in a hardware manufacturing quality role, ideally with PCBA and HV experience
  • Proficiency with 8D, PFMEA, control plans, and ISO standards
  • Experience with MES systems, quality inspection tools, and data analytics tools such as JMP, Minitab, SQL, or Python
  • Strong ownership mindset, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE
  • Essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
  • Willingness to occasionally work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel as required

Salary range: $136,000 - $184,000 USD
