Job Description

An Electrical Engineering intern at Redwood Materials will support the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems for sustainable battery recycling facilities, contributing to the creation of a circular economy for lithium-ion batteries through hands-on technical work and site visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical assignments under supervision.
  • Support the development of construction drawings for electrical systems.
  • Assist in creating design standards and templates for electrical engineering.
  • Maintain electrical equipment tracker for procurement and installation.
  • Conduct site visits to document construction progress and ensure compliance with designs.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Passed or planning to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, single line diagrams, and electrical circuit schedules.
  • Familiarity with using REVIT MEP for electrical design.
  • Familiarity with using Navisworks to view and create clash-free design.
  • Proficiency in using Bluebeam to review, add markups, and create sessions.
  • Prior internship or work experience at another firm.
  • Perform electrical assignments with general direction and supervision.
  • Support the development of construction drawings for low voltage up to 600V power distribution, one-line diagrams, lighting, lighting control, electrical circuits, raceway, grounding, data, and communications.
  • Assist in the development of design standards and templates for the electrical engineering department.
  • Assist in maintaining electrical equipment tracker through purchasing, delivery, storage, and installation.
  • Perform site visits to document construction progress and ensure compliance with design drawings.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on mindset, with a willingness to contribute at all levels.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place.
  • Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly.
