The Test Engineering Lead at Redwood Materials is responsible for building and managing testing infrastructure and procedures for high-power electromechanical battery products, leading a team to ensure product validation and high-volume manufacturing readiness in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build, deploy, and support testers for product validation and high-volume manufacturing
Design and develop test infrastructure, including fixtures, electrical cabinets, and software for testers
Lead and manage a test engineering team to achieve project goals and timelines
Requirements
7 years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, software, or related product design engineering, not necessarily in test engineering.
Comfort with high-voltage 400-2000VDC, and 480VAC products.
Personal technical expertise in at least one aspect of test engineering, such as designing test fixtures, electrical cabinets, or the software infrastructure for testers.
Experience developing tools, infrastructure, and design practices for a growing team.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with all levels of the organization and presenting to internal and external executives.
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
Willingness to work occasional weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
Willingness to undertake occasional travel as required.
