Job Description
The Aurora Staff Global Supply Manager is responsible for overseeing the supply chain of complex optical hardware, including sourcing, supplier relationships, cost management, and ensuring high-quality, reliable production from prototypes to full-scale manufacturing in a safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain for optical subsystems and components, ensuring reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for optical components and contract manufacturing partners.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand technology requirements and business objectives.
- Manage relationships with optical suppliers and contract manufacturers, overseeing their sub-tier supply bases.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers and contract manufacturers to secure supply and reduce costs.
- Track market conditions, monitor technology roadmaps, and identify supply and demand challenges and opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a proven track record of managing global supply chains.
- Deep understanding of optical systems and manufacturing, including components like lenses, mirrors, lasers, photodetectors, and processes for coatings and precision assembly.
- Demonstrated experience managing Contract Manufacturers for the production of complex, high-reliability products.
- Strong analytical and cost modeling skills, with the ability to perform detailed should-cost analysis.
- Exceptional ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Legal, and Finance.
- Tenacity in solving problems, with a resilient and adaptable can-do attitude in a dynamic environment.

Base salary range: $143,000 - $229,000 per year
